Intarsia patterns for woodworking on the scrollsaw

What is intarsia?  Try to imagine a puzzle made of many wooden pieces.  The difference between a puzzle and intarsia is depth.  By rounding or shaping each piece of the "puzzle", the woodworker gets a relief. . . a three dimensional appearance, rather than a flat surface.  Use patterns for sure success.

Using different color woods, stains, or paints for certain pieces of the puzzle serves to make shadows or separate specific portions of the design.  Look at this Nativity scene in the intarsia style:

Even if you are new to woodworking, the patterns we offer at our web site www.WoodcraftPlans.com will guide you through the entire process.  You will get full size, traceable patterns, a list of materials you need, step by step instructions, and even photos with many of our project patterns.

The scroll saw is the tool most people use for making intarsia projects, but the band saw is also popular.   The beginner can easily learn and the expert will find a new love.
